Don't Let COVID Bring You Down, Get Back To Travelling ASAP

Wednesday 25 August 2021

With some of the world now starting to come out of the pandemic, meaning that it’s time to start resuming life as normal in most cases. With Melbourne still in lockdown, it can be challenging watching others around the world start to go on adventures again. It may feel like this lockdown will go on forever but that doesn't mean you can't start planning the great escape once we can finally leave our 5km radius!

Of course, those who test positive for COVID still need to self-isolate to help contain the spread, and people travelling should continue to wash their hands and wear a face mask. Other than that, it’s time to get things going again, and one of the things that a lot of people have missed is travelling. In this article, we’re going to look at how to make this work, so keep reading to find out more.

Make The Plans

First, you need to make the plans. You need to search online for the best flights for the best price, then you need to look at accommodation for the duration of your stay, think about who is coming with you or whether you would rather go on your own and so on. It’s a lot of planning, but it needs to be done. Once you have made the plans, you are going to be free to enjoy the time up until then, getting excited to get back into travelling mode.

Double and triple check everything to ensure that you have got everything you need booked. The last thing that you need is to get to your destination, only to realise that you don’t have everything sorted.

Budget It In

Make sure that you are consulting your budget before you book anything though. You can’t be spending money that has already been allocated for something else, as this is really not going to help you. Once you have budgeted in all the usual expenses, you then need to add on some spending money. We recommend working out how much you think the duration is going to cost roughly, and then splitting it evenly into the amount of days that you are there. This way, you always have some spending money, and if you don’t spend it all the previous day, it can roll over.

Explore Your Heart Out

Now that the planning and money is all sorted out, you are free to go and explore your heart out. Go places that you have never been before, and if you have been to the destination previously, find somewhere new to go while you’re there. There is never going to be a shortage of places that you can explore and learn about, so get back to it now. It will all be worth it when you are back doing the thing that you love, making yourself happy with life for the first time since COVID.

We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now see some of the things that you can do in order to get back to travelling. There is no reason for COVID to keep you down any longer, as long as you are going to take the proper safety precautions. We hope that you have a fantastic time, and that travelling again is everything you have been hoping for.

What are you doing to help beat the quarantine blues? Where will you travel first once restrictions are lifted?

And until next time...

Stay Curious!
